I want to say thank you for all of the support of our campaign over the past several months.

Whether you gave your time, your money, or your vote, it’s not an exaggeration to say that we could not have had such a successful campaign without each and every one of you. We changed the conversation here in Scarborough Southwest. Thousands of our neighbours know we need a generational change in leadership to guide our city towards a better future. And while we didn’t have the result that we were hoping for, there was so much to be proud of in our campaign!

I’d like to extend my congratulations to Mr. Kandavel, our future city councillor. Organized, engaged community members are essential to guiding elected officials towards making the right decisions. I hope you will find a way to share your priorities with him so our community can thrive.

I also hope you will stay connected with our team! I will continue my community advocacy work and will continue to connect with people across the ward as we tackle the tough issues. Together, we can continue to advocate for policies so we can all find a home we can afford, so we can all feel safe in our community, so that we have better transit in Scarborough, and so we can look forward to a sustainable and resilient future.

Thank you for everything you have done to get us through this amazing campaign: all of the encouragement, all the donations you made, the doors you knocked on, the phone calls you made.

There’s plenty of work ahead, so for now please get some rest, but stay in touch and we’ll build a better future together!
