Permit Parking

Make Permit Parking Fairer Citywide

It's time to making on-street permit parking rules fair for everyone across our city.

In many parts of Toronto, people can pay the City for an on-street overnight parking permit.

But the City refuses to issue permits to most residents in Scarborough and North York, leaving them saddled with unpredictable numbers of $40 tickets!

This impacts:

  • Visitors who park on-street for 3+ hours
  • Residents of multi-generational homes who may rely on more vehicles than they have driveway space for
  • Tenants in multi-tenant houses (or rooming houses) who may occasionally need to park on-street
  • Carshare operators who cannot offer their services without a reliable, accessible place to leave vehicles
  • And more!
