Permit Parking Petition

Blantyre Ave

The lack of permit parking on Blantyre Ave in Scarborough is unfairly leaving residents saddled with unpredictable numbers of $40 tickets.

This impacts visitors who park on-street for 3+ hours; residents of multi-generational homes who may rely on more vehicles than they have driveway space for; tenants in multi-tenant houses (or rooming houses) who may occasionally need to park on-street; carshare operators who cannot offer their services without a reliable, accessible place to leave vehicles; and, others in our community.

As residents, we can request the City consider allowing permit parking on Blantyre Ave, following a 3-step process:

  1. Residents submit an unofficial petition requesting an official poll from the City Clerk about allowing permit parking
  2. The City Clerk administers an official poll to residents on whether to allow permit parking
  3. City Council makes a final decision on whether to allow permit parking
