Jane's Walk - West Scarborough Railpath
Community Organizer, Kevin Rupasinghe, will lead this walk and discuss his vision of a more vibrant, green and connected Scarborough. The proposed West Scarborough Railpath is envisioned as running across existing public lands such as the hydro corridor adjacent to the Line 2 subway from Victoria Park to Kennedy, connecting the Taylor Massey Creek, Warden Woods, the Meadoway, and all the communities in between. The route will also pass by some notable existing and future housing projects, both private and public (HousingNow).
He will be joined by Alex Schaffter, a bird nerd, who will talk about the importance of connected greenways for people and animals alike. This is a beautiful time of year with many birds returning to the area or passing through on their way further north.
Please wear comfortable walking shoes, water and sunscreen. If you have them, feel free to bring your binoculars and bird books!
