Like a mantra, we hear SSW by-election candidates promise their unwavering commitment to constituents. Kevin’s solid track record of community involvement in the year between elections — when candidates were not electioneering — demonstrates decisively that Kevin’s promise of commitment is genuine. And I can attest to this personally. Without hesitation, Kevin agreed to speak at a “save the greenbelt” rally I organized last December.
He energized the Scarborough crowd by championing affordable housing through intensification and not by building on the farmland, forests, wetlands and watersheds in the greenbelt. A few months later, Kevin appeared at my door promoting Danforth-Kingston4All, a local group he helped to launch that aims to transform our arterial streets into safe, accessible and lively community destinations. And those are just my own experiences with Kevin. SSW residents have told me about many other projects and advocacy efforts he tackled during that year between elections.
Based on his impressive history of commitment, I have every reason to believe Kevin’s by-election promise. I’m confident he will represent SSW actively, tenaciously and responsibly into the future.
